Anti-Bullying Speakers - Understanding and Addressing the Problem

As one of the leading anti-bullying speakers in the United States, Joel Penton is acutely aware of the prevalence of emotional, and physical, abuse in the nation's school systems. He also understands the consequences of failing to deal with the issue. If you aren't quite up to speed on the severity of America's bullying problem, it is worth looking into the facts before learning more about how anti-bullying speakers like Joel can address it.

Anti-Bullying Speakers - The Facts About Bullying

Anti-Bullying Speakers - The Facts About Bullying

Many adults believe that incidents of bullying in high schools and middle schools are few and far between. However, the statistics paint a much different picture. According to a StopBullying.gov report, more than 70 percent of young people in the United States say that they have seen bullying in their school.

The figures reported by students are further backed up by information gathered from school staff members. StopBullying.gov states that 62 percent of school employees have witnessed bullying two or more times during the last month. In fact, 41 percent of school staff members see bullying at least once a week.

Though some of these bullying situations are over in an instant, many drag on for months or even years. Unfortunately, the end result of serious bullying is often suicide. According to the National Center for Health Statistics and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, suicide is now the second leading cause of death among teenagers and young adults. Between 2000 and 2017, the suicide rate in this age group increased by a worrying 56 percent.

In short, bullying is an ever-present danger to the lives and wellbeing of America's young people - which is why anti-bullying speakers like Joel work so hard to reduce or eliminate it.

How Anti-Bullying Speakers Like Joel Penton Can Help Your Students

How Anti-Bullying Speakers Like Joel Penton Can Help Your StudentsNo two anti-bullying speakers are exactly alike. Each has their own unique take on the best way to help keep America's students safe from this potentially devastating problem. For Joel, eliminating bullying starts with helping young people to feel more positive about their futures. He believes that when students feel like their lives are headed in the right direction, they are much less likely to lash out physically or emotionally at their classmates.

Of course, Joel's efforts to reduce or eliminate school bullying don't stop there. He also works hard to teach students how to be more empathetic human beings. He knows that most acts of bullying are carried out without a second thought about the feelings or emotions of the other party. If he can teach students to stop and take a moment to consider the outcome of their actions ahead of time, he believes that school bullying rates will see a sharp decline.

Stand your ground.  Don't back down.

What does it mean to stand your ground? People today are
constantly making commitments and breaking them.  Look at
divorce rates, credit card debts, New Years's resolutions... and
the list of unfulfilled promises goes on.  It it even possible to
keep our commitments?

Stand your ground,  Don't back down.

Joel Penton says, "Yes it is possible" - he knows from
experience.  Like most of your students, Joel was put into
situations in middle school and high school where it would
have been easy to compromise and break his commitments.
However, he chose to rise above the pressure and keep the
committments he made in school, in football, and in life.

Stand your ground.  Don't back down.

Joe will say that it takes character, it takes will, and the road
will be hard.  But his personal experience is proof that ordinary
people can accomplish great things by simply following through
with the commitments they have made.  Your students will be
inspired and reminded of the importance of not just making
committments, but also keep those commitments.

Don't back down.  Stand your ground.
